
The Gnostics of the Ancient Near East, 15th– 17th July 2019 (University of Oxford)
ARAM Society for Syro-Mesopotamian Studies is organizing its Fiftieth International Conference on the theme of The Gnostics of the Ancient Near East, to be held at the Oriental Institute, the University of Oxford, 15th-17th July, 2019.
The conference aims to study the Naj Hammadi Scriptures, the Valentinians, the Mysteries of Mithra, Hermes, Aridaeus, Didymos, the Hymn of Jesus, the Acts of John, the Chaldean Oracles, the Manichaeans, the Mandaeans, and others.
The conference will start on Monday 15th July at 9am finishing on Tuesday 17th July at 7pm. Each speaker’s paper is limited to 45 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes for discussion. All papers given at the conference will be considered for publication in a future edition of the ARAM Periodical, subject to editorial review.
